Just for fun at RHL&B

In 1990 this track was the result of an experimental collaboration between the coloratura soprano Christina Knochenhauer and the composer/arranger Örjan Strandberg. It was a go at rock/classic fusion, a connection that several performers from both genres were tempted to pursue in those days.
In 1992 coloratura soprano Christina Knochenhauer and the composer/arranger Örjan Strandberg recorded Olympia's aria form The Tales of Hoffmann by Offenbach. Nearly 25 years after its conception this track is now finally released. Here, in Olympia's aria, Christina's own variations in the second half of the song are still unprecedented with their crisp virtuosity in the highest regions of a singer’s voice. The eccentric inventor Spalanzani has created a mechanical doll to seduce the poor young Hoffmann. She sings and sings until the machinery finally breaks down. Örjan Strandberg’s fantastic and burlesque interpretation of Offenbach's music lends a playful and humorous background to this crazy invention. In the same vein Christina and Örjan recorded The Queen of the Night, which now also is available from your favorite streaming service.
